Betty J. Smith
Known for her beautiful portrait work, Betty is also talented at painting landscapes and flowers. A member of the Art Circle for the past 4 years, Betty has painted for over 10 years, inspired by her older brother, Angus. She also has a love of drawing.
When she was twelve Betty took classes at the Cincinnati Art Museum. Later she attended the University of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University. She worked for the IRS for over 32 years.
After retirement Betty began using her artistic talents in areas such as ceramics, stained glass, cake decorating, and jewelry making.
Married to John Smith, Betty has 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Encouraged by her children, she has taken lessons at the Art Academy of Cincinnati.
Betty has exhibited her art at Columbia Tusculum, the Essex Studios, the Art Academy, and New Vision United Methodist Church.
