Susan graduated from Saint Marys College in Notre Dame, Indiana with a major in English and a minor in Art. After a short career teaching high school English, she raised her family with her husband, Joe.
Susan has volunteered as a Junior Great Books leader in Kansas and Ohio and for 22 years as a librarian at St. Francis Seraph School in Over-the Rhine. She is presently tutoring writing at Purcell Marian High School.
In addition to exhorting and encouraging children to read, for many years Susan made functional pottery, selling in gift shops at the Public Library of Cincinnati and at the Cincinnati Nature Center.
About five years ago Susan started lessons at the Art Academy. She loves drawing and her Friday morning watercolor class with Ken Buck.
Susan and Joes big family includes four grown children, four in-law children, and eleven grandchildren scattered from California to Iowa, Ohio, and Rhode Island. They provide an endless resource of ideas for her painting.
